In my previous self-led project, I burned my final outcome as a releasing ritual. For this project, I considered how I could work through the negative effects of burnout by creating art. Allowing myself to explore and experiment, without the limitations of my own anxiety and self-criticism, I delved into the philosophy and effects of burnout. The first half of the project focused on 28 drawings being partially burned. The second part was an art book consisting of comics and illustrations, as well as quotes by Byung-Chul Han.
"Burnout" has been the most challenging project I've worked on, spanning two months of constant research and experimentation. My final outcomes utilised multiple disciplines and mediums, and are full of my personal thoughts and feelings. I am incredibly proud of what I have been able to achieve and cannot wait to work on bigger, even more challenging projects.
This project with all its outcomes were on display at the Degree Show in Ravensbourne University, 8th-10th June, 2023.
