I was familiar with the topic of the article from my A Level in Psychology but I was delighted to see that new research had been conducted. I have always found it fascinating how the brain processes and stores information.
I picked out the main themes I wanted to focus on - repetition, things being tampered with and masks (or a second face).

To further challenge myself, I began experimenting with Adobe Illustrator. Creating vectors allowed me to change the image as many times as I wished without losing any of the quality. I wanted to see how much I could simplify the idea I had and reduce it to the most important details.
When I was happy with the vector images, I exported the illustration and added the final details in Procreate. I did quite like the texture from the original sketch and using textures is somewhat common in my art, so it felt fitting. I was careful not to add too much and overwhelm it.
