Capture the brightness of summer and the unusual stillness of rest between games.

Copic Alcohol Markers, Coloured Pencils, touch-ups in Adobe Photoshop
I have been feeling nostalgic for the summers when I used to play tennis. Especially in 2024, with "Challengers" coming out, the international focus on the Olympics and the French open, it felt very topical to illustrate this. Rather than capturing the high energy game though, I wanted to focus on the stillness between games, when you look at the bright orange sandy expanse, with the sun blaring directly above and the silence from the players as they rest. The sun glare comes across nicely in this illustration, very closely capturing my teenage memories.
