Science Museum volunteer project

Brief:
Aid in activities and ideation, and act as a bridge between the technicians and students through our unique position as illustrators.

Mediums:

The Science Museum organised a collaboration between technicians from various industries and students from local schools. This collaboration was the basis for the Technicians exhibition currently on in the museum. At the time, a group of 5 illustrators from Ravensbourne were brought on the project to visualise everyone's ideas and help the two groups understand each other.
Two of my tasks included illustrating the students' future green schools and providing a visual element for an escape room. The first was a collection of the young people's hopes for the future based on real innovations that the technicians recommended for green energy sources and sustainable living. The 5 illustrations were turned into cards, which work with Museum in a Box, so our recorded thoughts can be heard.
The second brief was developed by the young people, who wanted to immerse the technicians in the daily life of a student. At the end of the escape room, which we put together, offered one of three questions to ponder and discuss. I designed the illustrations to accompany the questions.

Over the course of this project, we participated in multiple activities, learned from each other and promoted a supportive environment. It was truly a dream opportunity.
